  • kenmore washing machine sits cockeyed at top

The model number is 110.28812790. The tub seems to just sit on #17 and #17 isn't fastened to the base #19. The tub seems to bounce around especially at the top during the spinning cycle.

We don't have a clue. Thanks.

    Washer moved??

    That is correct.

The tub seems to bounce around especially at the top during the spinning cycle.
Was the washing machine relocated or tipped on its side previous to this occurrence? If so, that triangular 'skid plate' may now be out of position.

It has been somewhat out of balance for a year and today a heavy load may have made it worse.

We tried to line position it upside down but it won't stay put. It looks like the front, back, wires, and everything has to be taken apart to fix it.

The whole washer?? Don't do that!

The washer's cabinet comes off for service, yes. You can read about that and positioning the triangular skid plate at that following link. Someone can investigate the suspension springs at the same time.

It might have been a good idea to have it looked into at the time before it got worse and/or caused more damage.

          Don,

My brother was really impressed with the instructions you sent. We got it working ok with a medium load and if it gets worse we will take it apart and roughen up those pads.

We do have a Maytag LA612 that needs a use clamp at the top of the barrel. If we find one the other one gets pitched.

          Thanks. Bob

            Washer tub clamp

That part looks to have been discontinued but the web site at the following link says they still have one in stock:
