I've got a whirlpool gold Model# GT2SHMXMS04 with an ice maker in the freezer. We don't use it very often, but we put the bar down the other night and it failed to release any water into the machine. I can see water in the tubing. I added water to the machine and it freezes, but does not harvest. The temp in the fridge is -5F based on a thermometer in the fridge. There is a faint grinding noise occasionally but i'm not sure where it is coming from. Any ideas what i could do to fix this? Thanks for helping

You can read about how that icemaker functions and tests that can be made to try to determine causes of problems with it at the following link.
LINK > Whirlpool 'Modular' Compact Crescent-Mold Icemaker
If needed, you can see the complete icemaker replacement unit at this link:
LINK > Whirlpool 'Modular' Icemaker Asm.
