OK - I am nearing the end of my electrical work for my basement and have used the information from this board extensively. Here is where I am at;
I have purchased a Square D Q SubPanel along with a number of 20A Single Pole and Doble Pole and 15 Amp breakers. The panel itself is a 125A with 12 slots expanded to 24 if you use the 1/2 size breakers.
The current load as I calculated for the basement is aprox. 60/65Amp as I have included a number of electric baseboard heaters, bathroom, Freezer, Bar/Sink/Refridgerator, and a sump pump.
I have a 220A service into the home through a Sqaure D Homeline box that sits within 2 feet of the subpanel. There is only one free slot in this box so I will need to move some items in order to make room for the sub-panel breaker.
The question I have is the service entrance cable and the size of the breaker to feed the subpanel. (I have been told to go with the 100A Breaker with a 4/4/4 copper) - as I would rather stay away from aluminum wiring.
Thanks again for the help and assistance.
