three-way switch problem

After installing two three-way switches (one is lighted the other does not appear to be.) and one light fixture. each switch works properly, turning the light on and off. The lighted switch is lighted when in the "off" position. The other switch does not light at any time. The problem is the light fixture blinks. Perhaps pulses steadily every two seconds is a better description. I have re-examined the connections and everything seems to be correctly wired. I cannot figure out what went wrong.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I seem unable to find or get to the illustrations page. Being a new member, I have not explored much of this site.
I will keep trying.
