    damp basement

I have heard of a plastic/rubber matting (to keep moisture out) on concrete floor prior to putting plywood flooring down ---has anyone worked with this material??? Is it working? expensive?? My basement is pretty moist--especially in the summer---High humidity---have a dehumidifier running all season...

you first concern is to find out why the basement is wet. If the floor is damp covering it up will add to your problems because any water trapped under the flooring will cause deterioation of the flooring material and will most likely cause mold and mildew.
