  • White Oak floor under my bedroom carpet

Ok....this site looks pretty active, with alot of good ideas/opinions. Last night i just finished pulling up all the casrpet tack strips. Because I am going to refinish my base boards....I'm removing them tonight. Now the part I'm undecided on. Oil or water Poly....like the idea of quick dry and no odor, but want the Amber color back on my oak. I think I can get it back if I use a sealer first. But...I keep seeing that applying water based poly is usually done with a T bar.......never done that. Any thoughts? Easy to do? Easy to avoid overlap marks? The room is 11 x 16.......in pretty decent shape, but plan to sand bare to remove scratches and give a spotty pet stain my best shot. If an oil based poly is really the easiest and best for white oak I'll go that way. I was prepared to get a good 4" brush and put down a good quality oil poly...... but then started thinking about the Plus's of the water based stuff. I am ready to listen ideas and opinions.
Working...
