Can I use carpet pad for laminate flooring?

I am getting ready to pull up the old carpet and install laminate click flooring. Can I reuse the under carpet padding or is it too spongy? Thanks.

No you cannot use carpet padding under laminate flooring. It is far to spongy and will allow so much give that the laminate planks will break off the tongues.
Plus make sure you remove ALL the carpet padding staples, they are laminate killers as well.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.

Thanks. What is the weight limit for this flooring? I have a couple Arcade games going in this room. maybe around 250 lbs each.

Laminate flooring will handle that weight, just remember not to drag the machines across the flooring, it's tough but it will scratch if you drag across it.

Laminate is easy to install, stands up to all kinds of wear and tear, and is relatively inexpensive. It doesn't require removal of any type of existing flooring except carpet, and in most cases, no special prep work is needed to install a floating laminate floor.
