A/C problem

My fan motor on the inside blower unit went out this week. I replaced it along with the capacitor. When I turned everything back on, the compressor would not come on. I checked the breaker, but no problem. There's no humming or anything from the unit outside. Any ideas what to check now?
I'm between jobs and really need to try and fix this myself if possible!

Is this a blower coil unit? First check all the low volt wires in the blower coil unit
to see if you broke a wire. The blower runs Right? Is there a electronic board in the blower coil unit? if so check to see if there is a plug in fuse on that board.
If you thermostat makes the indoor blower run then see if you have 24 volt power going to the two wires to the outdoor unit.

I did not read the last part of your post. Both thermostats and electronic boards
and out door units can have time delays built into them. If you have two time delays, it could take up to ten min. for the outdoor unit to start. Paul

That's happened in experience before, it often does that.
