  • Always with the stupid questions - insulation

I am certain this must be an exceptionally stupid question, butt..

The HVAC guy installed a new gas boiler in my basement. Being too curious for my own good, I had look inside the access door to 'see' how new differed from old.

Okay, color me 'dumb', but there is what appears to be fiberglass insulation lining the jacket. This also 'touches' the walls of the boiler itself in several places. Is this kosher? I know fiberglass is basically fireproof, but boilers get durned hot, and the burner isn't far below the boiler tank...

Approximately ten years ago I started with 'shit happens.' Now, I've also had to migrate to 'It is what it is.' If I have to get any more PC, I think I'll hurl!

      - Thanx
