  • Fireplace insert gas valve issues

Hello, I have a fireplace insert that is giving me issues. The pilot light will ignite, the burner will come on when called for, but after 5-10 minutes, you can here the gas valve click and both the burner and the pilot light go out. I have replaced the multi-volt gas valve and the thermopile. The wires are not to long, as they are only a couple of inches. Anyone have a suggestion?

Look at the pilot flame and see if it is burning with a good sharp blue flame.
Is the power pile all the way up so the pilot flame is going around the power pile about 1/2" from the end and completely surrounding it?
Can you see the pilot when the main burner is on? If you have too much up draft the main burner can be pulling the pilot flame away from the power pile
so you start losing power after the main burner comes on. Also over firing with too much gas pressure can do this. Is the pilot pressure adjustable?

That sounds like what might be the problem, the pilot lite is just touching the thermopile. I'll try moving something around. Thanks.
