  • heating problem.

I have Comfortmaker gaspack installed 1990.
When the heat is trying to come on, I can see it in the thermostat (blinking temperature). However the heat and blower are not on.
To get working I move the heat/off/air switch to off then back to heat. The thermostat is a setback type and I have changed the batteries.

Ant ideas what needs to be done?

Welcome to the forum. First, how do you know the "heat is trying to come on"? A "blinking thermostat can indicate that a signal has been sent to the gas valve and could energize it to open in a few seconds. When you see this "blink", how long after does it take for the burner to lite, or does it without you flipping the switch? Hube

The blinking occurs indicating that the gas pack is going to ingnite the pilot, start the blower and clear the ducts, then light the burners. I can hear the unit but the blower does not start. All I have to do to get everything to work is move the heat/off/air switch to off then back to heat. What happens different when I switch the heat/off/air switch to off then back to heat?

Make sure the terminals on the T- stat and the furnace gas valve (relay) are clean and tight. Hube
