    Is it normal for the tube connected to the compressor on the AC get icy ?

    That tube is called the suction line and no it shouldn't be icy. That means the compressor in bringing back liquid refrigerant instead of vapor. Thats a compressor killer. Give some more information about how your running the system etc. and some people here may be able to give you advice.

      If you filters are clean the A coil clean and the blower is running ok.
      The AC unit is low on freon. Dont run it like this it will hurt the compressor ED[8D]
