  • sweat ( condensation) around the compressor, normal?

Hello, I recently purchased a Rheem 3 Ton value series condenser and Evap coil for my house. Although the unit is cooling well and there are no issues, I have noticed about a 2-3 inch area around the compressor (where the suction line) goes into the compressor that is usually sweaty with condensation. I had the contractor check the superheat and subcool twice and they claim it's all normal. Can you please tell me if this is normal ?

    condensation

as you know condensation is the result of temperature differences. the suction line is colder than the outlet of high pressure side, which if you touch it is quite hot!
superheat is about a difference of 12 degrees. if your freon flow to the evaporator is controlled by a thermal expansion valve, then the superheat is measured about a foot from the suction inlet to the compressor. the tex valve's bulb should be on the bottom side of the suction line.
