  • oooooo that smell?

Along witht the soot problem I have not been able to figure out in my forced air natural gas system I also am noticing an acidic type smell when the furnce lights and the fan starts pushing heated air through the vents. One other problem which may coencide with this is my gas fireplace will not light.I notice that there is more of a yellow flame from the pilot,as well as on the tips of the flame in the furnace.Would this indicate a leak in my piping? Concerned to the point of calling the gas company.

Call the gas company for sure it sounds like you should have them check the gas pressure there on the furnace and also check for a crack in the heat exchanger at the same time . You should have a gas furnace looked at and clean every 2 to 3 years
