  • heat pump wont power up

Hello. I have an International Comfort Products heat pump that is probably 6 or 7 years old. I last used the A/c about a month ago and it was fine. About a week ago I tried to use the heat and the unit doesn't power up. The Honeywell digital thermostat has new batteries in it, and it properly displays the room temp, set temp and heat setting, but the outside unit does nothing. I verified 240 volts incoming with a volt meter. Any ideas for a possible easy fix? Also, a/c setting no longer functions. Thanks

Go to the thermostat and set the fan switch to the "on" position, if the fan comes on you have both high and low(24 volts) power and no need to check anything there, bypass the thermostat to test the unit. R to Y is the ac compressor. Click image for larger version
