  • Monitor 441 Ran out of fuel

    Hi
We have a totally rebuilt heater done within the last year and we ran out of fuel. Two problems...first heater wont fire starts up then does a ch ch ch ch sound and shuts down we tried priming, bleeding fuel lines, no luck. Disconnected fuel line now we cant get it screwed back on. So all filters are good except one at tank needs replacement but all was working great until we ran out of fuel.
    Suggestions needed.

You may have air in the filter at the tank. Be careful putting the fuel fitting back on. It should go on with your fingers almost all the way. If not the fuel line is not centered and it will leak. Bleed the filter at the tank by taking the line off and opening the valve for a few seconds to get a strong flow. You might as well change the filter before you start. By the way, it is a good idea to change that filter every year. Done correctly you can do most of the bleeding at the filter. Tom

Sounds as if you have air trapped somewhere between the tank and heater restricting fuel flow to the heater. Get the air bled from the fuel system and all should be back to normal.
