DUct Work Design - Replace ?

Two story house - 5 Ton unit . DUct work in attic with blower etc.

all duct work is flexible . no main trunk . Certain room never seem to get enough Air..

Woild a rework with a main trunkline be recommended.

Hard to say when you dont see the duct work. Have you as we say played around with the registers and try and set them like close one down just a little when it is to cool. See what happens there first. Also you could try the blower on 24/7 and see if that helps. Most of the time it does in a 2 story home.

Try "throttling " down the air flow to the rooms that have lots of flow by adjusting the dampers. Also , in order to get a proper air flow IN to a room, there has to be air flow going OUT of the room. (via Return Air). Check out your R/A locations. Continuous low speed fan operation will also help some... Good luck...Hube

when the cold air return is not where it should have been. For your job sounds like it should be reworked .

Friesen; The return intake should be located as far away on an opposite wall / floor. If the r/a is installed TOO close to a supply, the room's supply air will "short circuit" and not circulate thru the room before exiting into the return air intake. Hube
