  • Fan never recycles on and off in airhandler

Have Rheem airhandler model # RBEA-17J1 0NUCA. My problem, the fan in the airhandler never shuts off.
One leg in the 24v/220 relay for the outside unit burned out along with the coil. I think 110v went back through the 24v side and burned my 220v/24v transformer and fan relay in the airhandler. I replaced these items and even replaced the thermostat. The fan in the airhandler still never cycles on and off. The outside unit works fine. Of course the selector on the thermostat is set to auto. All the wires seem to be wired correctly. I've even disconnected the green wire from the thermostat, but the fan continues to run........would appreciate any advice.

Sounds dumb but try it. Hit the side of the blower hard with your hand sometimes the relay will stick. If it dont shut off pull the 24v from the fan relay and see if it stops then.

Thanks for a reply....... tried what you said, hit the side of the blower and pulled off the 24v wires to the fan relay, still stays on. I have four wires from the thermostat, yellow from thermostat connectet to white, going to outside unit, white from thermostat, connected to black with white tracer going to coil relay for heater. ( I'm not forsure of the proper name) Green from thermostat, connected to black with green tracer going to 24v side of fan relay, red from thermostat, connected to 24v side of transformer. Also going to outside unit, (different harness) red connected to one brown, which is wired nut together with two other browns, one going to the other side of the 24v fan relay, the other going to the 24v side of the heater coil relay.

Can be the tstat or the fan relay have to check each out.so if you pull G off and it still runs then its the relay. If it stops its the tstat

Boy with that color Ill let you run them down. Look at the schematic on the blower door there.

R is power W is heat Y is compressor G is fan
this is what the tstat should have .
