A motor had to be replaced last year because a large amount of water was leaking, soaking the furnace and everything below. We have a Lennox G40UH(X)Series. The unit is 2 years old.
It stopped cooling the house last night. The air blows cool, but not cold and does not cool the house at all. I don't know a thing about AC units! I'll try my best to explain it. Above the furnace is where the air gets cold before blowing into the house, that part is leaking a small amount of water (not as bad as last year). That part was not replaced when we moved in 2 years ago, I don't know how old it is. That part of the air unit is behind panels that are bolted on. The front panel is cold and has heavy condensation on it, the right side panel is warm. Also the line that comes in from the outside unit (the line is wrapped with insulation tubing) has parts of the line that have ice clear around it, like ice rings. The ice is melting making water drip, this line is in clear view in my laundry room. I have turned the unit off because I don't want to further damage it, it wasn't doing any good on anyway.
Also, I checked the hose that leaks water into the drain and it seems to be working fine, i blew into it and it seemed ok, some dust/dirt came out but water was coming out before that too. What do you guys think is happening?
