  • my furnace was leaking gas, now it doesn't work

I had a gas leak and had PG+E come out and said to replace the pilot light, it worked fine and two days later had a surge of power, and I cant find the reset button. Nothing is working except the pilot light flame is burnig, but nothing else. It is a GE model from 1972, can anyone help. It's cold at night... BRRRRRRRRRRR IT"S COLD!

Well you probably have a counter-flo furnace (blower on top) The high limt reset is inside blower compartment . There are a few exceptions however that is where most are located. BE SURE to replace door(s) when you are thru. Might be a good time to check filter. Also turn of power when entering that area of furnace unless you are a service tech.

I might add that the limit will only open if the furnace is in operation at the time of a power failure. This is assuming that you are not having other problems & has no bearing on the power outage.
