Help! I have a Rheem furnace that is not heating. I first thought it might be the programable thermostat so I changed the batteries. The thermostat temperature keeps droppping but the furnace never comes on. I turned the furnace off, waited a minute and turned it back on. It runs but never seems to ignite. We have been in this house 12 years and this is the second furnace (first one recalled). This is at least the second time this has happened with the new furnace, always in the cold weather. The repairman previously said the ignitor had melted. It is now 48 degrees in the house. My husband is in Iraq and emailed me to put in a new thermostat. I don't think this will help. I am pretty handy so is there anything I can check or do before I resort to another service call. Thank you.
