  • Condensation on Gas Line??

This morning I went down to the basement to empty the dehumidifier. I noticed a spot - size of a quarter - on the cement floor. Looking up is the gas line. There is a connection pt there with brown sealant over the threads at the connection there. I noticed the pipe there seemed to be damp/or have condenstation. The area felt greasy/damp. Looking around the ceiling area there were no other pipes and no leaks. Can you get condensation on a gas line at a connection pt? There was no gas smell. Suggestions what to do? I have owned the condo for a year-- this is the first time I noticed this.

Yes. You can get condensation on a gas line. Simplest way to prevent it is to wrap the gas line with foam insulation.
