We had a power surge several days ago and now our two window units and our refridgerator aren't working. An electrician came out and confirmed that our plugs are fine...and no, the breaker is not tripped. The fridge is on but not cooling, one unit will not turn on at all and one will turn on but makes strange noises and does not cool. Is there an easy fix for these, like a fuse, or do we need to totally replace them?

Lit our fireplace for the first time this season last night and the whole living room filled with smoke, alarm went off. Chimney was cleaned last year...
