AC unit malfunction

We had a power surge several days ago and now our two window units and our refridgerator aren't working. An electrician came out and confirmed that our plugs are fine...and no, the breaker is not tripped. The fridge is on but not cooling, one unit will not turn on at all and one will turn on but makes strange noises and does not cool. Is there an easy fix for these, like a fuse, or do we need to totally replace them?

The surge usually wipes out the control circuits which are electronic. Raw power will pass but the small voltsges necessary for the controls are burnt up.
