First of all...Ed, You mentioned a spray for filters on a furnace in a post long ago."There are spray's that you can but on the filters when you put them in. It helps." Got a brand and are they available in one of my local building centers or just through a plumbing supply store.
The second question and the reason I'm back here (God I love this site), I finally broke down and had a new Ruud furnace installed and chucked that old Sears piece of junk. Got tired of tweaking the thing.
Now that the price of gas is going to go sky high,I'm wondering about the ductwork in my crawlspace. Some of it has bunt style insulation wrapped around it but the majority is not insulated.I have begun to put sheet isulation around it but wanted to get your opinions on this action before I continue the job. Is it nessesary to insulate and will it make a difference in heat loss? Thanks in advance for a reply.
