  • Blower Fan Cycles

Fellow Forumites, I have a Sears Kenmore 80 PowerMiser furnace in my
Home. I believe the furnace to be around 18 years old. When furnace
is running, the blower fan cycles on and off about every minute.
Sometimes the cycle durations are slightly longer or shorter.I'am
unaware if this condition is normal or if I have a problem. Any
advise or help on this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,Ed Klein

What kind of high limit do you have, if it is 18 years old it is most likely a round dial type fan and limit, with settings on it, they heat up and warp to make switches to turn the fan on and off.
They are cheap replace it, and set it at 110 off, 140 on, 180 to 200 high limit. check the wiring and see if it has 3 or 4 wires on it, if it only has 3 wires then you leave the small brass jumped in it, if you have 4 wires then you need to break off the brass jumped.
