I have a problem with my heater, the unit is a Trane XE 78, the problem is that the burners turn on and off continuosly, and it blows cold air, can anybody tell me what could be causing the problem, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Have you recently changed the thermostat. It may be preset incorrectly as ours was for a while after we switched to a programmable thermostat on our XE 78.

    Sincerely envolved.

I have been browsing the web looking for some type of fix for the same exact heater. I have the same model with the same exact problem. I have found that if you turn the power to the heater off and wait 5 seconds then turn it back on it will work for the short term. I am getting two blinking lights when my heater shuts off, I still have yet to find out what those mean. If anyone knows please let me know.

      Thanks,
      Elliott

when you interupt the power source you are resetting the board ,if and hopefully tou do have the owners manual the next time it shuts down the flashing redand other lights if you have more than one will diagnose the problem look in yor manual and a trouble shooting pge will follow you through the system check step bystep.(p.s. when asked to short board this is done by touching a wire to the lead described in the book and touched to a common wire)
