What is the point in Second Thermostats?

My opinion is there is very little point, or advantage whatsoever. If a thermostat is put in the PROPER place to begin with, that is at the proper heigth, out of direct sunlight, not near any supply registers, etc, then another is not required. With a "Programmable stat, it can be set for a weeks activity and forgotten. 'Nuff said....Hube
