    I think my AC Blower Died

    Hello All,

    I am a new user and need assistance if possible. When I returned from work this evening and tried to turn my AC on (I live in Austin Tx and it's 70+ degrees here) I heard this weird humming/whining noise. It sounds like a motor that is having a hard time turning on. The unit keeps making the noise, however it wont come on. The sounds seems to be coming from right above the air filter.

      sounds like a bad blower bearing or bad motor. Unplug the unit and remove the filter. You should be able to see the blower (looks like a fan). see if you can turn it manually. BE SURE TO TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST!

          Joe could be right on target, but also check out the "start capacitor" for it. Hube
