  • Dryer venting

Anyone know if it's OK to vent a exhaust fan (bathroom) into a dryer line?
Basically they would meet at the exit from the building at the vent cap on the wall.
Little about a lot and a lot about a little.
Every day is a learning day.

I wouldn't. at some point the damper flap might stick closed and you'll be venting moisture from the bathroom into your dryer or vice versa.

I thought about the same thing and my local building code wouldn't allow it. The previous owner had connected it to a vent stack from the water heater - how stupid that was - gas fumes could have gotten to the bathroom - light a match after...well you know...and booooooom.

I couldnt even place next to the dryer vent exit - closest was 36". Pain in the rear, but codes are in place to keep us safe (mostly).
