  • installing heat strips

thanks for anyone who may be able to help.
I have a 3 ton Nordyne heatpump package unit. I'm trying to install heat strips in the unit. The salesman said there would be a plug for the low voltage to connect to in the unit, but there isn't. I understand how to wire up the line voltage (instructons are pretty clear) ;however, there are no instructions for the low voltage because you're supposed to just snap the plug together. any info on how to straight-wire low voltage? And again, thanks

your low voltage is the controlling faction for the heat strips which operate at 240 volt. in your control box you'll need a contactor to operate the heat strips. the control for the contactor is part of your heat circuit for the a/c unit and operates at 24 volt. the strips might be wired together or in a sequential stepping unit. [better check that]
