  • Pulling air into a house?

    In a former house, there was a whole house fan which did a great job of pulling outside air into the house. The current house does not have one and installing one is not an option, however, I would like to be able to use a fan to pull outside air into the house. The issue is this: If a box fan were placed in an outside doorway directed to exhaust air from the house (with the thought being that air would enter the house via open windows), since there would be so much open space above the fan, I doubt that this would work. What options might there be?

    use dual window fan, that can set to intake mode, This way, one fan pulls fresh air in while another, placed in a different window, pushes stale air out. This creates a cross-ventilation effect.

      There are some great window fans that are exactly for this purpose. Don't use a box fan, use one that is built to fit the window precisely. Take a look at this article:
