Monitor Dealers no longer restocking
Here in Alaska one of the bigger stove dealers has stopped restocking Monitor parts. I needed a burner pot the other day and was told it would have to be special ordered and paid for in advance. My local dealer has told me he is not reordering parts from the distributor when he runs out. He will make an order if you need something. I did buy a burner ring and an igniter just so I have them on hand. Since I have a combustion chamber and heat exchanger spare ready to go I should be OK for a number of years yet. It would be nice to hear for a legal type as to Monitor’s responsibility to provide parts for a few years after they shut down. As for the dealers I know they have no legal responsibility to provide any service or parts for a discontinued product. Most will probably continue to provide service as they would want to keep their customers as happy as possible. Times are going to get tough for Monitor owners, real quick.
