  • Replaced seal pack/brine piston and now it ...

(I originally posted on the appliance board but they suggest to put it here)

turns on and off over and over while sending a large flow of water to the drain. Any ideas as to what we need to do? (older culligan softner)

    Thanks

    softener valves

Your softener has two or three solenoid valves that control the water flow. You may have some resin beads under the valve seat. If so, the water is going through the drain side instead of into the salt tank. Take the valve apart and inspect the seat rubber. Make sure the little holes in the rubber are open and that there is nothing under the seat. If you just recharged the resin tank and did not allow 24 hours to settle, this problem may come back a few times before all the unsettled resin has passed. I hope this helps.

DuneMe keep your comments to yourself. It doesn't help the poster. If you are looking for frendship in the forum you are going about it in the wrong direction

I'm about 150 miles from Pulaski. So? How does that lessen my thoughts about the OP's position? Man you got to get your sh** straight!
