  • Toilet Fill Delay

    Here's a new one.

We've got one of those low-consumption toilets. Works great but it's started doing something kind of strange. Flushes OK, but it doesn't fill right away like it used to. There's a 5 or 10 second delay before the fill begins. Nothing wrong with the fill once it starts - it just takes a long time to start. Is something wrong, or could something go wrong?

    Thanks.

Sounds like the float is hanging up on something. If its a ball-rod type maybe its hitting against the inside of the tank or if it's a one piece unit, the inverted float may be water bound and needs to drain itself before it drops to open the inlet valve.
