  • Pipe clamps...

While reconditioning this 140 year old home, I'm trying to keep as much to the 'original' condition as possible. Any ideas on where I can get duplicates of these 'unique' pipe clamps?

Couldn't find any Sears part numbers, and bar codes aren't apparent..

Although i dont believe it to be code approved,,you can buy the barbed wire through the Sears specialy farm catalog, The Farm Bureau stores or TCS (Tractor Supply Company). Its about $35 for a 750 foot roll. hehehehehehehhe.

WOW! 35 bucks will make a lot of these then! I gots t' get over to TSC! What's neat is how there's already those nails provided to stick in the lumber at whichever angle for the pipe, too!
Sure wish that was all there was to this plumbing 'issues' in this house.

Shortly after my sister bought her farm i was helping her work on a sump pump in the basement. We ran across some barbed wire suspended from ceramic knob and tube type electical insulators. At first I thought it was probably remnants of an old electric fence charger installation and didnt pay it much attention. After a while curiosilty got the best of me so i traced it out. Turned out that it had at one time been used to supply 110v current to and old well pump. Could you imagine reaching up and getting caught on one of those barbs on an energized electrical circuit?

They can say what they will, but I for one am very thankful that we have codes and standards to prevent such happenings.

That photo makes me feel much better about some of the things I've been finding inside the walls of my 1964 house...Just call them "tamper-proof horizontal pipe riser clamps"
