foundation after an under the slab leak

I recently had two leaks repaired that were under the slab. The leaks had caused the house to shift\crack, and I was told that once the area under the house dries out (swelling from the water gone down), that the house should settle back to where it should be. Its been over a month, and no noticable difference yet. does anyone know how long this should take? or will piers need to be put in to adjust the house back. I was told No originally, but....

In order for an underground water leak to have the type of effect on a foundation such as you describe it would require a number of very specific geological and hydrological soil conditions. This question could only properly be answered by a qualified engineer or achitect that is familiar with the soil conditions in your region.
