    3 Piece Shower

I am going to install a 3 piece Lasco shower. My question is, when i rough
in for the shower can i install it against the studs or does drywall need
to be installed on the studs first to give the sides support? My space is
a little cramped so i don't want to if i don't need to.
    Thanks for any help.

The tub should be installed directly against the studs. Read your MFG instructions very carefully because some have small metal clips that are screwed to the studs and some require drilling through the apron to screw the tub to the studs.

If you have a molded shower enclosure it should be attached directly to the studs as well, but here again, check the manufacturers instructions thoroughly before proceeding.
