water hose BIB by the sidewalk

Our house sits on a hill. the sidewalk and lower lawn are down the slope.

It is a pain to always pul the water hose DOWN the steps to water below for whatever reason.

I was thinking of runnning a line from the house just to the sidewalk.

What should I use?

Flexible copper? riggid copper? PVC?

I would bury a length of plastic well piping [coil variety] and make a standpipe at the remote location. At the feeder end I would use a stop n waste so you could drain THAT length because of frost.
