    There is nothing in the codes that would prevent installing a non-direct vent tankless in a basement, providing you can achieve proper venting.

      As long as it is a powered vent unit, which most tankless units are, it should pass code, sorry about the poor info. I would much prefer to have a direct-vent unit in a basement though, that's just me though.

        Here we go again...

        Found a Bosch 125FX on craigslist new for $350. After reviewing this thread and all of your comments again I only have 1 question.

        On the bottom of page 1 I drew a diagram of my basement room and where this thing would be mounted. I cannot vent this under a deck though, right? I would then have to run the vent all the way past the deck which may bring me to over 15' which is the max vent length.

        1 more question, the seller said a horizontal termination kit is included, what is that?
