  • Water Shut Off Valve - Vacation??

I live in a newer manufactured Home (8 yrs old) and have a question about the water shut off valve to the house.. Between the valve and entrance to the house is a pressure reducer as the city water supply is around 90 psi and we have reduced it to 45/50 lbs..
My question is this.. When we go on a 2 or 3 week vacation, is it OK to turn of the water to the house off at the shut off valve to avoid any possible damage if a pipe bursts while gone or will doing that cause the regulator not to work correctly once water pressure is restored? Turning off 1 valve (water shut off) would be much easier than shutting off the valve at each faucet, toilet, washer, ice maker, dish washer, etc... Comments or opinions please..

shouldn't be a problem. do you drain all the lines before you go on your vacation?

      Drain Lines?

I do no drain lines as freezing is not an issue..

ok, no freezing so I wouldn't worry bout it. you mentioned bursting so that's why I asked about freezing.
