  • Help sizong condesate return line on steam heat

Im working in a house that was built probably over 100 years ago and these pipes are almost that old. My problem: the retuslrn libe whis is rotted is 3 3/4 pipe. I measured it 3 times. Ots 11.75 cir. I cant undersize but never heard of this size pipe. They make adapters from 1900 to 2022?

It sounds like you’re dealing with some pretty old plumbing! That 3 3/4-inch pipe with an 11.75-inch circumference is definitely unusual by today’s standards. It’s a good idea to double-check your measurements and see if you can find a conversion chart to match it with a modern size. You might also look for specialty adapters or consult a plumber who specializes in historical homes—they could have the experience and resources to help with these vintage sizes. It might take a bit of creative thinking, but there are definitely ways to work with older systems!
