  • Old Joint Compund Question

I have two buckets of old (3-4 months) All Purpose Joint Compund that has dried up a little. It'd say that it's lost half of it's moisture. It has turned into a bad type of clay that crumbles when you pick it up. There's still moisture, so it's not totally ruined. I'm wondering if there's a way to bring it back to it's full potential. How much water should I add, etc. I have two buckets with around 2.5 gallons apiece.

scrape off the hardened stuff off the top and add about a pint of water and let it stand overnight with the top on. Then go back and use a paddle mixer on a half inch drill and whip the compound.
