  • should baseboard heating be painted

I am painting my family room segovia red. This is a very bright room, plenty of sunshine. The window trim and mouldings will be white. This room has baseboard heating on three of the four walls (4 inches high). Should I paint the boards to match the walls or paint them the same as the trim.

    Lynn,

I would paint them to match the trim, just be sure to use high temp paint so it does not discolor.

    Good luck, Jim

I have often had to "refinish" base board heaters. my paint of choice is rustolium spray paint but any "good quality" enamel spray paint will work.
      heres what I do:
first turn off the circut breaker to the heaters to be painted.
2nd mask off or remove the heating element and mask surrounding walls/floors.
3rd,lightly sand all serfaces to be painted
4th,wipe down all serfaces to remove any dirt or dust
5th paint spraying in even strokes
6th re-coat if nessary and let dry at least 24 hours
      hope this helped.TAZ
