Hello,
This is my first post so bear with me !! I am adding a 10x12 utility room onto the back of my house. It's a simple structure - 24x40, gable ends. On the front and rear the eaves extend out about 7". On the gable ends, the decking boards are flush with the end rafters. The rafters are covered with 3/4" tongue and groove boards, and then a 3/4" strip is nailed onto them on the rake. So,if I put the addition on one corner, at a right angle to the house, how should the eaves be constructed? I want the wall of the addition to be even with the end wall of the house. But, I can't imagine that it would look right if I had a eave on the inside wall and the 3/4" rake board on the outer end wall. Suggestions? I hope I have described this properly. Any help, all opinions appreciated.
Thanks,
John M.
