How do I know how much vinyl siding,trim or insulation to order to do a siding job.

Trim is sold by the piece in ten or twelve foot lengths. Estimate the distance around the windows and doors - two vertical pieces and one over the top - this is for the "J" track. for the window bottom use the trim that looks like a paper clip with a nailing edge - ain't sure of the name of it. For corners, by the piece -external and internal corners. For the siding figure how many square feet a box will cover. Light fixtures have a special vinyl accessory part of the siding. For the roof part, plastic or white aluminum is used on the fascia board. "J" track is used for the soffits. The soffit part looks like a flat corregated piece of vinyl that you cut to width of the soffit.
