how does one finish around windows with cedar shingles to cover up the nail heads without window trim?

the shakes just butt up against the casing and the reveal from the next course hides the nail heads. I supposed you can use a finishing nail with a bit of "shake" colored filler -

thank-you hayzee we did think of that but didn't think they would be very secure so we thought of putting a constuction adhesive on the back side also with a finishing nail. Maybe there is no wrong or right on this but never doing it before we thought we would ask and see what answers came back.Comment
