  • Thuja Green Giant

Around the third week of April I planted Thuja Green Giants that I purchased. They're between 6 &7 feet tall and was wondering if I need to cover them for an upcoming frost/freeze? I'm in western PA and we had a frost the end of April in which the ends did turn brown. I thought they would be able to withstand a frost.
    Thank you!

If your recently planted Thuja Green Giants are still establishing, consider covering them with blankets or frost cloth during frost or freeze events. This will help trap heat and provide insulation. Additionally, applying organic mulch around the base can offer some protection. Monitor weather forecasts and take appropriate measures to safeguard your trees.

Yes, cover your Thuja Green Giants for the upcoming frost to protect them. Although they are plants that support some coldness, covering them will help avoid damage.

I also planted green giants in my landscaping in Chandler, Arizona, by a landscaping company as part of my front yard design.

The Chandler Landscaping Company conceptualizes and installs plants, walkways, and lighting based on our preference and local environment. Most of their work includes site preparation, management of the soil, and its ongoing maintenance so that the landscape thrives.
