Since owning our house, the 200 ft of cedar fence has been protected by using "Ace" WoodRoyal Solid Color Oil (Cape Cod Gray) Siding & Trim Stain.. Every year I have touched up areas that needed it or replaced bad boards painted with the oil based stain. Now this Oil Based product is no longer available. I know that a latex based stain of the same color just won't stick to the previously oil based color stained surface.. Local paint stores have no real answer for me except to live with it! Anyone know of a solid color oil based siding and trim stain that I should look for as none are available locally. All suggestions appreciated..

If your current oil-based stain is no longer available, you may need to explore alternatives by consulting with specialty paint stores or reaching out directly to manufacturers known for oil-based stains. If you decide to switch to a different type of stain, such as a latex-based one, make sure to thoroughly clean and sand the fence to remove any old stain, and consider using a primer to improve adhesion. Testing a small area before full application can help ensure compatibility and the desired finish.
