    Hi,
Can THHN cable be ran inside a wall from a entry point from outside (using conduit) to a breakerbox about 3 ft away?

      Hi,
I think I have confused the question. Can you run THHN cable in walls between 2X4's without conduit? I cannot seem to find that answer in the NEC code book. Any help would be great.

THHN THWN is a single stranded conductor. It is available in a multitude of colors. It CANNOT be run by itself exposed within a wall or outside of the wall i.e. stapled to the studs, wallboard or other. It is meant to be installed in a suitable raceway - EMT, RIGID, PVC, WIREMOLD. Purpose of the raceway is to afford mechanical protection. Even if the wire is installed inside of the wall (technically) it is unprotected.
