  • Laminate Flooring repair - Advice

Several years ago we had a "Mannington Laminate Floor" installed in several rooms of our house. The flooring was the "Click" style. Since then we have had numerous problems due to bad installation techniques and one problem due to imprroper use on our part. The dealer and installer have since gone out of business... We are on our own... The first attached picture shows a small area directly in front of our computer station (circled in red) that the wheels on the chair have dulled the surface.(our fault). The the Blue line in the first and second pictures show where the installer (?) seamed 2 rows of flooring with the end seams even with each other... Here is the question... I have access to several boxes of the same flooring material.. How difficult would it be for me (above average technical ability) to replace the small area directly in front of the computer station AND the 2 rows of parallel seamed boards back to the wall and stagger them??? If possible, where do I start and how much existing material must be removed / replaced to do the job? Maybe it is best left to a professional but.. just wanted to see if I can do it!

If you can get the same type of flooring (which maybe doubtful if it's that old), just start in a close by corner and have a go at it. You may need a laminate kit, 20 bucks or less to put it back down.. good luck
    Is it beer thirty??

I don't think you can do the work well if you are not a specialist. Unlike hardwood flooring, laminate flooring is with locking system instead of normal tongue & groove. It's very hard for a user to do the repair work. You can hire a professional installer. It's a small area and it doesn't cost too much for installation.
